Fee Waiver By Educational Institutions In Assam

Educational Minister of Assam Hemanta Biswa Sarma, informed about the decision of Assam Government to waive the fee for new admissions. According to the new order by the Government all the admissions in senior secondary schools, colleges, degree colleges and Universities for the current Academic year of 2020-21, will be free of cost. The decision was taken in lieu of the current economic crisis due to the spread of Pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

Who all are eligible for the benefit?

All the students who are taking admission in senior secondary schools, engineering colleges, medical colleges, polytechnic colleges or any such college under jurisdiction of Assam Government will not have to pay any fees for the current Academic year.

What will be the help provided by the Assam Government to the students entering colleges?

According to the latest announcement by the Assam Government, all the students taking admission in such colleges will be given Rupees 1000 per month for the books and Rupees 1000 extra will be provided to the students living in Hostels as their mess fee.

How will it remove the obstacles in the path of education?

This step by the Assam Government will prevent thousands of children from dropping out. As many people have lost jobs and are under Financial crisis, this move by the Government will ensure the smooth functioning of the Educational Institutions. This step of the government will help the Unprivileged students to be privileged by not being deprived of Education.

How the announcement made by the Assam Government overwhelmed the teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan?

The State Government has announced to provide regular pay scale to 29,701 teachers and also to bring 11,206 contractual state pool school teachers and 5,243 high school contractual teachers at par with permanent teachers in Government School of Assam.
